Liga’s Commitment - To You and To The World.

Our promise to make thoughtful choices that care for both people and the planet.

How it all started

Jennie, our founder, was frustrated by how hard it was to find everyday products that were both affordable and responsibly made. So, she created LIGA to prove that by using natural materials, ethical supply chains, and bold, thoughtful design, we could build something better. As a result, LIGA understands that the choices we make in hiring, pay, promotion, sourcing, and customer care directly shape people’s opportunities, well-being, and everyday experiences.

Through our commitment to J.E.D.I (Justice, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion), we promise:

  • To advocate for and implement policies that address the use of ethical and diverse supply chains, fair pay and treatment of workers and eco-friendly alternatives.

  • To help interrupt and mitigate internal, interpersonal, institutional, and ideological biases within the homeware, manufacturing, and retail industries.

  • To commit to promoting both internal and external workplace practices that encourage inclusion and equity.

J.E.D.I isn’t merely a statement, but a guide that informs how we design, collaborate and grow. We are committed to ensuring that our operations are just, equitable and inclusive for our culture, communities and consumers.

Justice

Justice means challenging the systems within our industry that cause harm - whether that’s deforestation, unsafe working conditions, forced labour, or the over‑extraction of resources. For Liga, this includes:

  • Choosing materials with responsible and traceable origins.
  • Confirming that suppliers meet our standards through adhering to our Code of Conduct Policy and completing our Supplier Survey.

Equity

Equity means ensuring people have what they need to succeed, acknowledging that different groups face different starting points and obstacles. For Liga, this entails:

  • Implementing a robust Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) policy that ensures that every worker is protected, heard, and treated fairly.
  • Choosing suppliers that also adhere to J.E.D.I principles - such as Cut By Beam, a female-led business who use sustainable materials to create beautiful, long-lasting products.

Diversity

Diversity means celebrating different identities, experiences, and perspectives - in our team, our suppliers, our partners, and the communities we serve. For Liga, this includes:

  • Partnering with suppliers of varying sizes, geographies, and cultural backgrounds.
  • Respecting the traditions and livelihoods tied to natural materials like cork, ceramics, and bamboo.

Inclusion

Inclusion means ensuring that everyone connected to Liga feels valued, respected, and heard - not just present. For Liga, this involves:

  • Ensuring our products are accessible and welcome a wide range of customers - lightweight, cork products and easy-to-open packaging.
  • Creating a workplace culture where everyone feels safe to speak up and participate fully, protected through our Whistleblowing and Anti‑Harassment policies.

Human Rights

Our commitment to ethical practice is also guided by internationally recognised Human Rights Standards - shaping the way we work with our team, suppliers and global partners. We believe it our responsibility to ensure human rights are respected, protected and fulfilled, meaning:

  • We follow the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, ensuring we identify, prevent, and address human‑rights impacts throughout our operations and supply chain.
  • We uphold the fundamental rights set out in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, recognising the dignity, safety, and freedoms of everyone connected to our work.
  • We adhere to the International Labour Organization’s Core Principles, including freedom of association, safe working conditions, fair treatment, and the elimination of forced, child, and discriminatory labour.

LIGA does not engage in lobbying or making contributions that could compromise impartiality or integrity.
